There are many chain restaurants in the surrounding area that have their food delivered in portioned bags, whereas by making everything from scratch in-house using the freshest ingredients Don Pasquale is able to personalise their dishes according to their customers’, ensuring that they receive the meal they desire. Being based in a multicultural city such as Cambridge allows Don Pasquale to serve a wide variety of guests, including tourists from around the world. The restaurant is fortunate to occupy a great spot in the centre of Cambridge that allows customers to sit on the terrace and watch the world go by in peace and tranquillity, whilst indulging in delicious Italian delicacies. Ultimately, having achieved 40 years of success, Don Pasquale is keen to achieve another 40 years of excellence and continue to offer its valued visitors the very highest possible standards of service, food and hospitality that they have come to expect. Now in its fifth decade, Don Pasquale first opened its doors in June 1973, and since then it has been the hub of the Cambridge market square. Locals, shoppers, tourists and businesses alike enjoy the family welcome and the restaurant provides true Italian family dining in a lively and fun atmosphere. In 1990 a-la-carte dining moved to the eatery’s first and second floors, while the restaurant concept on the ground floor and basement changed to a Pizzeria and Gelateria. Later, in 2007, the two Pasquales took over the day-to-day running of the restaurant, allowing their fathers to take a back seat. The cousins have continued to develop the restaurant and have now created an exclusive members’ lounge on the first and second floors as well as taking on The Plough in Coton. Today, the establishment is open seven days a week, from 8am until 10pm, offering a range of traditional Italian dishes including pizzas and pasta to suit a wide variety of tastes.
