UK Enterprise Awards 2022

33 | UK Enterprise Awards 2022 ownership. This makes Salon Help unique as fellow coaches within the industry don’t tend to have a business background of this type. This experience is used to formulate systems which take on the difficult challenges faced by the industry. Carl explains, “Pricing has been our niche forte for some time now, but the industry is notoriously weak at retailing, which we have been tackling head on with our online course and books. You wouldn’t think it, but it’s a tough sell getting salon owners to help their clients have a better experience through product care, but there is great resistance despite the incredible opportunities it affords.” Salon Help is also always seeking development opportunities, always looking to help salons with Carl Hinder officially established Salon Help as a coaching company in 2015 for the hair, beauty, spa, and clinic sector, with its focus being on finding the entrepreneur in every business owner and bring it to the fore, away from the daily chores that they find absorbing and overwhelming. In light of Salon Help’s success within the UK Enterprise Awards 2022, we got in touch with Carl to find out more about the company. Carl Hinder’s clients are all at different stages of their business development, which calls for a multilevel approach; one size doesn’t fit all. Not all of his clients have ‘problems’, many just want to accelerate their progress, and they know they have a lot more potential. With this in mind, Carl has developed different strategies and tools to help businesses manage their current challenges, whatever stage they are at. Salon Help’s services extend from one-toone coaching, which is still very powerful for larger scale growth, to online courses, books, audiobooks, and its flagship pricing app, which has helped change the face of the industry. The pricing app is what the team is most proud of, enabling salons to futureproof their prices within only an hour or two, and with new functionality, salons outside the UK will be able to use it- indeed, they expect an uptake from other outside the sector to benefit too. The way Salon Help offers help and support to clients is always under review; it’s a changing world and businesses need to change with it in order to stay ahead of the game. This is why innovation is so important. Solving business issues comes down to an ‘analyse and innovate’ attitude. Indeed, innovation helps Salon Help itself to stand out from competitors within the sector. Carl says, “We firmly believe that there is no barrier to success, absolutely nothing, not even recession, pandemics, or inflation. We don’t dwell on the empathetic relationship; we focus on the results that clients can enjoy.” Carl and his team also benefit from a coaching background in the retail (food and non-food) industry, giving them substantial commercial background to support their experience in salon Most Innovative Salon Coaching Organisation 2022 May22281 the right solution, with Carl saying, “We grow every time a salon gives me permission to help them grow. The biggest challenge really comes from changing an industry mindset so that they believe they deserve more, and are capable of more. The challenge is to create ambition amongst business owners.” With regards to its own growth, the company utilises social media, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, in addition to broadcasting live every Wednesday night on QCTV (Quick Coach TV) via YouTube and podcast apps. Additionally, the book ‘Salon Products, Sell or Die (Not) Trying’ is available on Amazon, Kindle, and Audiobook, and if you’d like a signed copy, you can order one of those, too from the Salon Help Website. So, what’s next for Salon Help? Carl tells us, “Salon Help will continue to grow through 2022/23 as we work on our profile through great PR, including awards. An office move is shortly on the agenda which will give us the opportunity to develop better quality technical materials and to respond to more people. Also, the podcast, ‘Good to Go’ will launch this summer and show Salon Help in a different light! But you will have to wait and see.” He continues, “This year will see our recruitment programme being rolled out to change the way salons recruit and manage their teams. The pricing app is being relaunched with new functions and the foundation coaching programme is moving from a one-to-one model to a hybrid model. It’s all about scaling.” Company: Salon Help Contact: Carl Hinder Email: info@salon-help.co.uk Website: www.salon-help.co.uk
