September 2020 was a strange time indeed, with lockdowns starting and stopping, schools open and shut and our social lives totally transformed. For families up and down the country, the slow return to normality demanded something new and exciting, that could celebrate being together once again. Be Our Guest Princesses was designed to fill that gap. For Emily Price, the growth of Be Our Guest Princesses was one which came from her own passion. She had been training at ArtsEd School in London, preparing for a job in the performing arts industry when the first lockdowns hit. “I missed performing so much – the feeling of a roaring crowd, the butterflies of being on stage and the amazing feeling I would get singing to an audience was so far out of reach. So I went online and ordered some very cheap costumes and wigs and advertised on my local Facebook groups that I would sing as their child’s favourite character on video call, and it boomed.” As lockdowns loosened up, Emily was able to build an industry of talent that matched her passion. Now able to meet in-person, her dream of working closely with audiences to build deep connections has become ever-truer. Her team is made of people who have trained at top performing arts schools across the country. “Every single visit we do whether it is 15mins or 2 hours come with live singing performances that truly take your breath away and bring the storybook to life!” she tells us. “We are so lucky that we have this team of true magic makers.” Having performers who care so deeply requires an immense degree of focus and care indeed. No two children are the same, and Be Our Guest Princesses has earned a reputation for being able to put a smile on anyone’s faces, including those who suffer from learning difficulties, autism or are disabled. For repeat customers, the Be Our Guest Princesses team take the time to learn their preferences and names, which generates incredible rapport. The talent of the impressive team stretches through every aspect of the business. “All of our dresses and wigs are of the highest quality,”Emily enthuses, “designed and made by the most talented dress makers in the world. Some of our gowns are even truly unique to Be Our Guest that you can’t find them anywhere else.” Such care and attention to detail is why people don’t just use Be Our Guest Princesses once, but ask them to return year after year. Word of mouth has naturally proven to be a major part of the team’s success! Looking ahead, Emily has big plans on the horizon. “We are so excited to share that we will be venturing into our very own Children’s entertainment venue! The Be Our Guest Palace will be used for children’s parties and events for private hire, along with weekday toddler and baby groups!” Alongside the usual meet-and-greets with characters, the team hope to offer packages such as private princess photo shoots, discos and craft parties. None of this growth, however, will impact the breadand-butter of the team’s work, which is providing visits to peoples’ homes, village halls and community centres. Having everything in one place, however, means that there is a perfectly sized venue, predecorated and ready for the magic to unfold. “We are super excited for the opportunities coming our way,” says Emily with a smile.
