31 | Q2 2021 Jul21616 Lulu Bella Boutique, winner of the Best Independent Woman’s Fashion Retailer in the North of England, is a woman’s fashion boutique with several shops across the region selling everything fashionable from jumpsuits, dresses, and occasion wear to seasonal outfits, shoes, and accessories. Lulu Bella Boutique opened its first shop in March of 2017 in Chester- Le-Street. Its unique array of clothing items has sparked fascination on the internet, not just for their clothes, but its loveable and friendly environment. For Lulu, Chester has brought many loyal and loving customers with whom Lulu shares outstanding bonds and who have allowed the company to grow in its business. With Chester being such a success, Lulu took the plunge and dedicated itself to opening another store in the heart of Gateshead in July 2017. The central location has allowed enormous benefits to its Gateshead store and its business. After having such outstanding achievements with both stores and its customers coming across from further afield, it was decided to open another Northallerton store. This store was opened in November of 2017, and its location has proved well for the company of Lulu. The final store for Lulu was opened in later December of 2017 in the Cramlington area, and while it is the smallest store in the collection, it has one of the best locations of the bunch. For Lulu, Cramlington has proven to be an extreme success despite its size and the loyal customers it has are noted as being ‘phenomenal.’ All four stores were opened in 2017, and since then, the business has been kept strong, successful, and of course, busy, with the help of its dedicated customers. However, Lulu’s took a turn in the second lockdown in November of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The business was in constant limbo with stores opening and closing frequently and team members away on furlough. Zoom meetings were the new way for Lulu to do business and socialise with friends and clientele. Fortunately, the pandemic didn’t stop Lulu from providing Best Independent Women’s Fashion Retailer - North England excellent service and unique clothing; it was then nominated by Prestige Awards for Best Fashion Boutique North England 2020 to 2021. Overall, Lulu is thankful for those who have nominated, voted, and supported the business since its initial foundation in 2017. The dedication and love customers have for the industry is outstanding and is showcased wholeheartedly with the immense efforts that have been put into each of its stores. Towards the future, Lulu will be heading onwards with the English Independent Retail Awards, as it has been nominated once again for a further two awards.
