Southern Enterprise Awards 2022

Southern Enterprise Awards 2022 | 46 Aug22302 Best Health & Wellbeing Social Enterprise 2022 – Hampshire & SME Community Excellence Award 2022 Studies have shown a direct correlation between social andmental wellbeingwith physical health and activity. Getting up, out there, and engaging can help so many. Thankfully, with a particular focus on the wellbeing of the next generation, organisations like ActiveMe 360 have got things covered. From in and after-school services, community sessions to parties and holiday camps throughout the year, ActiveMe 360 makes sure children can still learn, remain engaged, and have lots of fun. ActiveMe 360’s mission is simple: use the power of physical activity, sport, and education to change lives. Through its work with local authorities, education providers, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders across the south, it believes that leading an active and healthy lifestyle can support and improve everyone’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Its team of experts have made it their mission to inspire this in everyone it engages with. Through high-quality, accessible, and affordable active programmes – such as curriculum PE, physically active learning programmes, after-school clubs and holiday camps – ActiveMe 360 can deliver sports coaching and affordable active childcare across Hampshire and the South Coast. As a proud social enterprise, it also does things differently. ActiveMe 360 ensures that 65% of its profits are reinvested into local communities to encourage positive social change for children and families. These investments include developing their own Green 360 strategy in a bid to help them reduce their impact on the environment and make informed decisions that work to tackle the climate crisis. Partnering with Ecologi, ActiveMe 360 track their delivery-based mileage every quarter, and in turn, fund the planting of trees and other climate tackling projects world wide to offset their carbon footprint. Since January 2022, they have planted over 1,000 trees and provided funding for projects including renewable solar energy in Egypt, Peruvian protection of the Amazon and wind power projects in Mexico & Honduras. Its three pillars are its fields of focus – those being physical, mental, and social wellbeing. The company’s firm belief that exercises – and physical activity in general – can improve all three is a perspective that is backed by science and that they have learned from experience. ActiveMe 360 encourages people to exercise, come together, and feel good about themselves and their surroundings in the process. This is a multi-pronged solution. Six values encompass its aspiration to be passionate and innovative, working to create strong communities and harbour trust through its vitality, transparency, and honesty – all whilst remaining as inclusive as possible and empowering individuals and communities to follow its example to be independent and responsible. Finally, the firm belief that there should be zero barriers for anyone wishing to improve their lifestyle concludes the foundation in which the business has been built from. ActiveMe 360 works to help support and improve people’s journeys to enhancing their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. That’s why it is committed to removing any barriers for individuals, groups, or organisations. The most significant barrier it has had to contend with – in the past 18 months – is the considerable impact Covid has had on children. Following the pandemic, inactivity amongst children is at an alltime high which is why ActiveMe 360 developed a programme called Operation Active Hampshire in response to these rising levels. The programme provides schools with 12 weeks of curriculum PE for only £10 an hour to help tackle inactivity without letting finances be a barrier. ActiveMe 360’s own future is as positive as the present; with continued growth in all areas, it hopes to expand its mission by diversifying into the training and apprenticeship market through its brand-new sister company, Active Futures. This launch forms part of its strategic plan to provide ongoing support for young people with skills and experience to help them get into employment. ActiveMe 360 is an organisation with a very noble goal, to better its local community and the wellbeing of everyone who is a part of it. Not content to just work to bring children fun and memorable memories and moments – whilst keeping them active and engaged – it is working to ensure anyone, and everyone can benefit. Such a noble goal, combined with ActiveMe 360’s impeccable execution, is precisely why it is a beloved, trusted and fast growing organisation.
