It all took a back step however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. “Aviation was hit hard due to Covid-19,” Lauren continues. “However, as an airline, we continued to hire and moved the process online instead.” Like many companies across the country, and indeed the globe, the firm saw the benefits in providing its services via Zoom calls. It was also able to deliver the practical side of the course, although in much smaller groups than usual, in order to observe student and staff safety and adhere to the government regulations. Now, with the threat of Covid-19 behind us, the company is facing a new challenge. “With the cost of living on the rise, especially in and around London, we have had to review all our T&Cs to remain competitive in the market,” states Lauren. “Being based in Stansted though gives us better transport links for surrounding airports, as well as in and out of London, giving us a larger talent pool.” The young and dedicated team at Cabin Crew International are on the road a lot of the time, holding open days, conducting school and college talks, and working from their laptops and iPhones – meaning they can operate wherever and whenever. This way of working has a lot of benefits, especially in the recruitment industry. “It’s better when speaking to candidates as they reply via WhatsApp or text message and it’s often easier and quicker to speak to people this way.
