116 | UK Enterprise Awards 2023 Apr23145 Best Creative Arts Service Provider 2023 - Shropshire Born from a place of passion and over 40 years’ combined experience of its founders, ReachOut Arts has endeavoured to encourage creativity and confidence in equal measure. On the back of the team’s success, we spoke with those very same founders – and current company directors - Gem and Saskia to find out more about their core mission and expansion. Established in 2017, ReachOut Arts has curated an impressive reputation for emboldening creativity and meeting all expectations. Today, the company boasts an ethos that they can firmly say it has, and continues to, accomplish: ‘Building Confidence Creatively’. Now celebrating its sixth birthday, Gem and Saskia have expanded into two distinct, complementary areas, named ReachOut Educate, ReachOut Creative. “ReachOut Educate is our successful provision for educational settings with options for nursery to adult education. Our specialisms are Anti Bullying and Living History with our Medieval Days programme - focusing on Tudor, Viking, Roman and Middle Ages. We also offer bespoke programmes that cover the majority of the curriculum, supporting educators in bringing a subject to life in an engaging and educational way. Our education team travel up and down the country in our company van visiting a number of schools bringing the classroom to life with our mini immersive museum of artefacts and resources and a whole catalogue of exciting and engaging workshop activities,” Gem explains. On the other side, ReachOut Creative operates as a holistic creative consultancy specialising on on-site visitor engagement through management of design, theatre, educational workshops and immersive events. Here, Saskia expands by discussing this side of the business in more detail. “Whether its hopping aboard a magical wizard express, sharing our pantomimes to thousands of families over the festive period, taking visitors back in time for an immersive historical experience or providing team building experiences for companies, in a wide range of business, cultural and theatrical settings, ReachOut Creative work closely alongside all clients to bring bespoke, tailored events to life, using skills honed from years of professional experience in event management, theatrical production, design and event support.” “Our ever expanding team work with educational settings, venues looking to host a variety of performance based projects, other businesses who feel they need a touch of creative flare and tourist attractions looking to enhance their visitor engagement.” Needless to say, the team have built a robust network of suppliers and clients, driving their expansion into all aspects of this industry, and allowing the company as a whole to flourish and thrive. But, ReachOut’s offerings don’t end there, and Gem and Saskia certainly don’t rest on their laurels. From ongoing creative consultancy meetings, theatre production, day to day enhancement, and event management to the most minute details, like script writing, they do it all. Making sure that the client can have total peace of mind that their event is handled in its entirety. Moreover, ReachOut is also a member of the Independent Theatre Council, holding Ethical Manager status, as Gem moves on to discuss. “This means we work with industry unions to ensure our staff and performers are looked after in the best way possible. We are also members of the Council for learning outside the classroom, holding a quality provider badge, this allows schools to cut the red tape when having us in to visit, safe in the knowledge that we have completed our risk assessments and have the skills, experience and knowledge to provide a top quality service. We are also proud associate members of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, something we hold dear to our hearts as we visit schools delivering all important Anti Bullying Workshops not only during Anti Bullying Week but throughout the year too.” Finally, both Gem and Saskia endeavour to encourage and drive their team to greater and greater heights, ensuring that they support and nourish their talents to best support the company’s seemingly limitless growth. Here in her closing comments, Saskia concludes, “We are very proud of our wonderful team of talented artists and educators working alongside us. From two single mums at a kitchen table six years ago, to five office staff members and a talented and professional pool of 20 plus regular self-employed educators and performers we find we offer something unique as a rural, female led company.” Company Name: ReachOut Arts UK Contact Name: Gem & Saskia - Company Directors Web Address: www.reachoutarts.co.uk Contact Email : info@reachoutarts.co.uk Telephone Number: 01746 330365
