Bell Structural Engineering has come a long way since its formation two years ago. It has exceeded even the most optimistic of expectations that Founder and Director, Graeme Bell had at the beginning of the journey. Weekly, the company receives new structural design and survey projects, and it is able to turn a report around within a matter of days to meet clients’ challenging deadlines. The industry appears to have become busier over the last year, too, with Graeme telling us, “We have noticed an increase in the number of requests from clients to assist with home improvements. However, there has been a slight decline recently in the number of requests for structural reports undertaken on behalf of mortgage lenders.” He also observes that the number of architects and engineers forming their own companies has increased significantly over the past 18 months. For Bell Structural Engineering, this has encouraged networking with these newly formed firms and has led to an increase in workload and contacts. Ultimately, Graeme and the team are proud of the company’s achievements since its formation. Its first-year target was met within less than six months, and it has exceeded its targets again for year two. The focus over the coming months is to maintain workload and review the long-term business strategy, as well as look to hire a VA to assist with marketing and admin support.
