Its Founder Fiona Thomas used to be a cancer nurse and psychotherapy counsellor, and she wanted to create products that facilitate recognition and connection to help people feel loved and special. We take a closer look to find out more. For children, trying to make sense of the world that surrounds them can be difficult, especially when exposed to bullying, pressure, and/or negative judgement. It often leads them to doubt themselves and manifests as a lack of self-confidence which can significantly affect their general well-being as they grow up. Fiona has created a magical mole called Unimole, which offers children the chance to have a hug with a cuddly, soft mole while they dive into her world through colourful stories. Unimole would like to be a role model for children of all ages, through communication and calming their fantasy fears, Unimole reminds them that they really are good enough, unique, and important. Unimole & Friends has recently been awarded with Most Creative Children’s Wellbeing Toy 2023. Unimole’s Tails aims to help children with their self-esteem and grow confident in their uniqueness. Its stories always provide them with two vital pieces of information and a physical change to help them understand the story. The aim is to positively affect their wellbeing and help them grow up with a strong foundation of self-worth. Fiona hopes to help people however she can. Life’s Little Recipes and Unimole are partnered with the non-profit organisation Brave. 5% of profits made Unimole products are donated to help its cause on supporting the mental health and well being of parents and carers of children with complex medical needs. We are excited to see what the future holds for Unimole as Fiona hopes to publish the stories and make them available for as many children to access it as possible.
