With a well-deserved accolade under the team’s belt, we spoke with co-Founder Karine MacRae Simpson to find out more about Tailormade and its exceptional services. The property industry is in constant demand of new players looking to revolutionise the market. Best practices and new benchmarks need to be set, reset, and re-evaluated to ensure that the ever-changing expectations of the industry are met and exceeded. It’s a reactive market, and those that aim to succeed need to showcase an incredible eye for detail, diligence, expertise and experience. By every consideration, Tailormade has proven itself to be an asset in the competitive Inverness market, endeavouring to best serve its ever-burgeoning client base. “We identified a gap in market for a better quality estate agency in the area, offering a no-nonsense, honest approach coupled with excellent customer service. We decided to concentrate on the Inverness area plus a 20 mile radius to provide the best customer service possible. We do everything from valuations, listings and accompanied viewings on all of our properties, including evenings and weekends. It also meant that we could really specialise in our area to become the local property experts,” Karine begins. Utilising their unique brand image and expertise, the Tailormade team have built a strong market share of 16% within Inverness, with all signs pointing to further growth moving forwards. They hope to achieve a 22% market share in the near future, spurned on by team expansion into supplementary services that will bolster their current offerings. “We have recently tied in with a solicitor working in our business centre to deal with all their house sales and executory sales as they have wound down their estate agency department, which will increase the volume of properties we are dealing with. We have also recently negotiated with a smaller builder to sell their development of 38 houses in Drumnadrochit. In addition to this, our lettings manager is diversifying into property clearances, cleaning and maintenance to add to our portfolio of services we offer.” Ultimately though, it will be the team’s clientcentric approach that will act as its not-sosecret weapon as they look to achieve their goal market share, as Karine explains in more detail in her closing comments. “Property is a big decision for people so we try to be direct and straightforward – as well as optimistic and helpful of course. We’re a friendly bunch and we’re hugely enthusiastic about what we do. A successful sale relies on mutual trust between client and agent, so good old-fashioned communication is central to our approach, even when it’s something the client may not want to hear.
