Ikonic has already taken action in order to try and make a difference. “It needs to go beyond just planting trees to offset a carbon footprint,” Chris enthuses passionately. “It needs a focus on the circular economy, which is why we are seeing a trend developing of the purchase of refurbished IT equipment, especially amongst schools and the public sector. At Ikonic, we are proud to say that all our laptops are refurbished in-house in our UK-based facilities. Just one more way we are working to meet our sustainability commitments.” Its commitment to sustainability is just one more reason why Ikonic Technology was recognised in the most recent SME News Northern Enterprise Awards and commended with the prestigious accolade of Best International IT Supplier 2022 – a very worthy title indeed. Now, as it looks to the future, Ikonic has identified numerous growth opportunities across the UK and EU to further develop Based in Heywood, Greater Manchester, Ikonic Technology Ltd (Ikonic) sells quality technology products across the globe. Run by a passionate and experienced team, the firm has built a loyal customer base built on trust gained over many years. We speak to Chris Perry to find out more about the firm, and its steadfast commitment to sustainability, as it is recognised in the Northern Enterprise Awards 2022. For more than 25 years, Ikonic Technology Ltd has been delivering IT hardware to resellers around the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world, building a reputation based on stocking high quality hardware from leading brands. Ikonic’s core values have not changed since its inception, influencing its staff to remain hardworking and focused on teamwork in order to provide a consistently outstanding service, and most importantly, maintaining the family atmosphere the company strives to uphold. Regularly exceeding customer expectations is commonplace for the team, and this is due in part to the three key pillars which underpin the firm’s ethos, these being: high stock levels, speed of delivery, and building an Ikonic team. “We hold over £15 million worth of stock,” explains Managing Director, Chris Perry. “Approximately £10 million in our UK base of operations and £5 million in our German warehouse. This investment in stock means that we are not awaiting deliveries from manufacturers and can give our clients the product they want when they want it.” Furthermore, partly due to the amount of stock held, and because of the commitment of the staff, Ikonic is able to offer same-day UK delivery, next-day EU delivery, and worldwide shipping. The speed of its delivery allows its customers to keep their promises too, and the company is even able to offer blind shipping services so that customers can ship to theirs even quicker. Underpinning everything that Ikonic does is the people. The company’s 90+ team members are a mixture of experienced industry professionals and new talent who are driven to succeed. The team is empowered to make decisions, all of which lead to quality products being sold at competitive prices and shipped to customers at high speeds. “We work as a team here,” elaborates Chris. “We work hard at Ikonic but culture is very important to us and we create a family-like atmosphere, with no one being seen as more important than anyone else.” In recent years, the IT industry has been slowly waking up to the fact that it is having a negative Best International IT Supplier 2022 Oct22397 its product range and leverage the recent enhanced infrastructure. “Surpassing the £100 million turnover mark in 2021 demonstrated our capacity for growth,” says Chris. “This is set to continue, with acquisitions supplemented with enlarged sales and purchasing teams ensuring we stock what customers need in the technology led culture we now all live in.” The circular economy, as previously mentioned, is also at the core of Ikonic’s plans. The market for refurbished products has gained pace quickly and the firm is delighted to have invested significantly in recent years, with more specialist staff and services, such as its new keyboard reprinting. “As a larger business within the industry, we expect to lead the way, and we are!” Chris comments. “We have initiatives in place to lower our carbon footprint as well as looking at our processes in a bid to be carbon neutral by 2030.” Contact: Chris Perry Company: Ikonic Technology Ltd Web Address: www.ikonic.com
